As part of our comprehensive fall prevention strategy, The Birches at Villa Rica has partnered with Inspiren, a cutting-edge healthcare company, to bring real-time insights to the dedicated caregivers in our memory care neighborhood. Using AUGi, a wall-mounted smart device that stands for “augmented intelligence” in each resident’s apartment, our care team can provide the right care at the right time and mitigate the risk of adverse events like falls.

We designed our memory care neighborhood around the belief that everyone has the right and the capacity to live and love while discovering enjoyment in each day, regardless of abilities that have been lost to dementia. Our approach — a mix of one-on-one and group activities — promotes independence, dignity, social interaction and daily moments of joy.

We believe in preserving dignity without compromising care. That's why we give residents the ability to communicate their wants and desires and actively participate in their care plan. Our expert staff offers compassionate specialty care, prioritizing residents’ autonomy and providing personalized care plans that cater to each resident's unique needs, desires and lifestyle.

Our associates are specially trained to use validation therapy as a communication technique, meaning that we relate to our memory care residents by joining them in their reality rather than trying to establish or introduce different facts. We validate residents’ feelings and emotions and approach them from their perspective on their journey with memory loss.

We provide opportunities for residents to use music, art and storytelling as creative outlets in our memory care programming. These endeavors allow residents to express themselves, interact with others and exercise different cognitive functions while experiencing a multitude of benefits.
